Taking a tour of the AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2023 held in May in Denver, Colorado
AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2023 was held on May 2-4 in Shenzhen, China. The same as every year, many companies around the world participated and demonstrated their newest line of products. It is a great show for them to leveraged the opportunity to reveal the first sights of their latest technologies and products. Our team did a tour of the expo.
Many companies from China participate there as well including CUAV and ViewPro. We will cover the full expo in another post. But now, let’s talk about one of the most interesting products revealed there, C-RTK 2HP.
This is what we have been thinking about for a long time. Using an RTK sensor, you can reach centimeter-level positioning accuracy for your drone. Because of that, if you put two RTK modules on your drone and install them far away from each other, since you know the position of each up to centimeter-level, then you can find the heading of the drone without any need for a compass. Interesting, right? But wait until you hear this.
Why do you need to install two separate RTK modules on your drone to find the heading? Why not only use one module, and two antennas instead? It can reduce your cost and complexity. So clearly CUAV thought about the same thing and introduced 2HP. So you can easily replace two C-RTK 9Ps with one C-RTK 2HP.
