Taking a look at the latest Airspeed Sensor by CUAV
Shenzhen UAS/UAV 2022 expo was held on August 10-12 in Shenzhen, China. Many companies around the world participated and demonstrated their newest line of products. CUAV leveraged the opportunity to reveal the first sights of its latest airspeed sensor, SKYE. Our team could get the first sight on this new sensor.
SKYE airspeed features a dual temperature control system, and intelligent de-icing technology. It is designed with waterproof material (suitable for flights in rainy days), and supports DroneCAN protocol for communication with the flight controller. Â
The SKYE has a integrated and compact design. The sensor is installed directly under the pitot, and eliminates the need for pitot tubes. It has a sliding mechanism for easier maintenance in case.Â
The temperature control system prevents freezing, and controls the temperature at the calibrated point of the sensor. The heating system is an integrated 32W system.Â
A drain hole inside the structure makes the system water proof and prevents damage to the internal parts.Â
